Types of hair removal machines
- Laser machines
- IPL machines
- VPL machines
While there are technical differences between the machines, for the sake of simplicity, we often use the term “laser” for them all. At Caci we started with Lasers, and then progressed to IPL and now we use the latest generation VPL (variable pulsed light) in all our Caci clinics for laser hair removal. The variable settings mean that the machines can effectively treat the different types of hair found all over the body, from thicker underarm hair to finer facial hair.
Natural Light - How Lasers (and VPL) work
The short controlled pulse of red filtered light passes through the hair and is absorbed by the pigment (colour) of the hair. This absorption process produces heat, which travels down the hair destroying the follicle, along with its ability to regenerate. Hundreds of hair follicles can be destroyed with each pulse, resulting in an easy and effective way to treat unwanted hair.
Individual hairs are in different stages of growth so not all hairs can be treated in one treatment. That's why several treatments are required to get a good result.
Hairs treated will fall out naturally over a period of one to three weeks leaving your skin feeling smooth and looking silky. Due to the growth cycle that all hair goes through, several treatments may be required to help prevent hair growth in the treatment area.
How many treatments will I need and how much will it cost?
All hair growth cycles are slightly different and some women, at a mature stage in their life, will sometimes find that some small hairs will appear gradually over time due to changed hormone activity. That's why Caci developed the Freedom™ laser hair removal program - to take away the guess work.
After you have completed a complimentary consultation at Caci, you will be provided with a quote for treatment on our Freedom™ laser hair removal program. With Freedom™ you will have a personalised schedule of treatments to ensure you get the very best results. Freedom™ also offers Caci's exclusive guarantee as well as easy weekly payment options.
When should I start treatments?
If you are suitable for treatment, winter is the best time to start laser hair removal because your skin can not be too tanned.
