How does Fractional CO2 laser work?
Fractional C02 laser is our most advanced treatment, which can achieve extraordinary results. It works by treating microscopic areas of the skin at a time, using a laser to penetrate the skin causing tiny holes in the skins surface, and damaging the cells below. This controlled damage triggers the skins natural healing process and stimulates collagen production. As a result, your skin rejuvenates and grows back stronger, firmer, smoother and more refreshed.
How is it different from other laser skin treatments?
- It’s the most advanced form of laser, treating more advanced signs of ageing
- It penetrates deep into the skin layers, targeting both the epidermal and dermal layers
- It combines heat and CO2 to maximise the effectiveness of the treatment, providing better, and more long lasting results
- This two fold technique has the best results; heat pushes through the skin, while the CO2 draws out the moisture from within the cells causing damage to the cells below
What concerns does it treat?
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone
- More Advanced sun damage (brown spots, pigmentation)
Does it hurt?
It is a priority of ours to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible during all treatments. Only microscopic areas of the skin are treated at a time, therefore the treatment is more comfortable than other laser treatments. Most of our clients are happy to have the treatment with a light topical anaesthetic.
What is the downtime afterwards?
As the lasers are spaced out evenly, and only a fraction of the skin is being treated at once, so after a treatment you will notice your skin is micro wounds of evenly spaced dots. You’ll be given some aftercare to apply to protect and help the healing process.
A week following the treatment, you can expect skin redness and slight swelling. These side-effects are normal and temporary. All post care information will be provided after your first treatment.
It’s very important to stay out of the sun in the days following your treatment, if you need to go outside, apply plenty of sunblock, and throw on some sunglasses and a headscarf.
How many treatments do I need?
For the best results, we recommend a course of treatments. These are available on our Reformaskin Fractional C02 laser programme; appointments are scheduled for you over the course of a year, typically you will have 3-4 treatments, plus a range of non-invasive facial treatments to compliment the Fractional C02 laser. Plus, on a skin correcting programme you can pay for your treatments with interest free payment options. Learn more about Reformaskin
