Tattoo Removal
Decorative and tribal affiliation tattoos have a history dating back at least 5000 years. The desire to remove them has probably existed just as long. Early attempts to remove tattoos have had less than desirable results - but NOW, Caci has the solution.
How does the treatment work?
A safe high energy light beam, created by the Medlite-4 laser, is rapidly pulsed directly onto the tattoo, targeting the ink. This action shatters and fragments the ink into minute particles, which the body’s immune system then gradually absorbs and eliminates over a period of time. This internal process can be quite lengthy, depending on the amount and colours of the ink. It can vary between individuals, but in order to gain the greatest benefit, we allow a 6 week period between treatments. It is important to understand that you will need more than one treatment for total tattoo removal. Treatment time for smallish tattoos can take just a few minutes, larger vari-coloured ones take longer.
What is the Medlite - 4 laser?
The Medlite-4 laser has been used internationally for many years, with a proven record of excellent tattoo removal, backed by international research and clinical trials. Selected Caci Medispas have been using this laser system for at least 10 years with thousands of satisfied clients. We maintain strict Protocols for the use and treatment of this laser so that you can be confident that you are receiving the very best treatment.
Benefits of Tattoo Removal
The benefits are obvious with total tattoo removal. You are now able to expose those (socially acceptable!) areas that you have always covered up. If you are yearning, or desperate to lose that tattoo you aquired in your youth, or any other unwanted tattoos for any reason ---then this treatment is for you. In most cases we can remove up to 95% of the ink, but ultra modern bright colours are more difficult to deal with
What will my tattoo look like post treatment?
Skin responses can look quite dramatic for the first few treatments when the ink is most obvious. Responses can range from mild redness to dramatic imflammation and swelling. Blisters can occur, and need to be managed correctly. You will be given a strict homecare regime and advice. Please note that there is a definite stinging sensation during treatment, but the light pulses are so rapid, that the discomfort is easily bearable.
Some commonly asked questions.
Will it hurt?
Yes, but the discomfort can be managed with the application of topical anaesthic cream. The sensation has been likened to the sting of a rubber band. The good news is - your discomfort is dependant on the amount of ink. As it gradually is absorbed and disappears, the discomfort becomes minimal.
How much will it cost me?
This is dependant on the tattoo size, age, amount of ink deposited, and colours involved. Your consultant will explain, and give you a written quote during your free consultation. Payment is per treatment.
Will I be able to go back to work after treatment?
Yes, most people do. It all depends on where the tattoo is, and what your occupation is. eg if you have tattoos on your hands, and work with fluids, abrasives, toxic substances, or similar - you would need to protect the treated area from the risk of infection or injury.
Do I really have to have treatments every six weeks?
It is preferable to achieve the best results, it is advisable to complete the full course in the least amount of time. Most tattoos need more than four treatments to obtain good results.
